Day 15 of Advent: Believing God

Believing

Greetings! We’re back for another stop on this incredible journey, and today, we’re looking at Luke 1:39-45. Get ready to be blown away by the power of belief and the magnificence of God’s blessings!

Alright, let’s set the scene: Mary, newly graced with the news that she’s about to bear the Son of God, receives this divine revelation. Overwhelmed yet resolute, she sets off to visit her cousin Elizabeth, who herself is pregnant with John the Baptist, the harbinger of Jesus.

As Mary arrives and greets Elizabeth, something astounding happens. As soon as Elizabeth hears Mary’s greeting, the baby in her womb (John) leaps for joy, and Elizabeth is filled with the Holy Spirit. This is no ordinary family reunion, folks!

What happens next is just mind-boggling. Elizabeth, moved by the Spirit, shouts out, “Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the child you will bear! But why am I so favored, that the mother of my Lord should come to me? As soon as the sound of your greeting reached my ears, the baby in my womb leaped for joy. Blessed is she who has believed that the Lord would fulfill his promises to her!”

Did you catch that last part? Blessed is she who has believed! It’s a testament to the profound importance of faith and trust in God’s promises. Mary believed in God’s plan, and because of that belief, she was blessed beyond measure.

This passage isn’t just about a family reunion; it’s about embracing the power of belief. It’s about trusting in the unfathomable ways in which God works. Mary’s trust was unwavering, and through that trust, she became a vessel for the miraculous.

And let’s not overlook Elizabeth’s faith either! She recognized the incredible blessing before her, acknowledging Mary’s faith and the fulfillment of God’s promises.

It’s a reminder for us, right here, right now, during this Advent season. Believe. Trust. Embrace the promises of God. Even when the road seems uncertain, even when the circumstances appear improbable, hold onto that unyielding faith.

The blessings that come from trusting in God’s plan are beyond measure. They’re beyond our understanding. They’re beyond our wildest dreams.

So, as we journey through Advent, let’s take a page from Mary and Elizabeth’s book. Let’s trust. Let’s believe. And let’s open our hearts to the incredible blessings that await us when we put our faith in the unfathomable ways of our gracious God.

Stay tuned for more Advent revelations! Until next time, keep the faith burning bright!
