Headlines are filled with it…store shelves are stocked with it…sites like Facebook and Twitter are covered with it. LGBTQabcdedfghijk pride is being celebrated this month. Even our “conservative” president has tweeted his thoughts on the matter in a liberal sort of way. Seeing all of this recently, has reminded me of yet another part of the spiritual battle we’re in. That being, standing up and speaking out against sin. Sin that is clearly defined in the Bible.

Let’s start by referencing the clear definition… Revelation 22:151 Corinthians 6:9–10Galatians 5:19–21Ephesians 5:51 Timothy 1:9Hebrews 12:14

15 Outside are the dogs and sorcerers and the sexually immoral and murderers and idolaters, and everyone who loves and practices falsehood.

Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who practice homosexuality, 10 nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God.

19 Now the works of the flesh are evident: sexual immorality, impurity, sensuality, 20 idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, rivalries, dissensions, divisions, 21 envy, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these. I warn you, as I warned you before, that those who do such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.

For you may be sure of this, that everyone who is sexually immoral or impure, or who is covetous (that is, an idolater), has no inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and God.

understanding this, that the law is not laid down for the just but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and sinners, for the unholy and profane, for those who strike their fathers and mothers, for murderers,

14 Strive for peace with everyone, and for the holiness (sanctification) without which no one will see the Lord.

As you can see from the above scriptures, God has clearly shown us that any form of sexual immorality is wrong and those practicing it, that is living habitually in that lifestyle with no repentance, no Godly sorrow, no desire to change…will NOT inherit the kingdom of God. Yet our society has become twisted to a fashion in which it reflects more truth from the Bible —

Isaiah 5:20–21 (NASB95)

20 Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil; Who substitute darkness for light and light for darkness; Who substitute bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter!

21 Woe to those who are wise in their own eyes, And clever in their own sight!

2 Timothy 3:1–5 (NASB95)

“Difficult Times Will Come”

1 But realize this, that in the last days difficult times will come.

For men will be lovers of self, lovers of money, boastful, arrogant, revilers, disobedient to parents, ungrateful, unholy,

unloving, irreconcilable, malicious gossips, without self-control, brutal, haters of good,

treacherous, reckless, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God,

holding to a form of godliness, although they have denied its power; Avoid such men as these.

We have become such lovers of the flesh that we have total disregard for what the Bible clearly condemns and have no heartaches for those that are perishing. Even the common Christian is this way today. Very complacent and lacking all boldness, Christians sit back and do nothing or worse yet openly support these sinful actions and relationships. Even if you’re one that’s in the “does nothing” category, you are still condoning it by not taking charge against it.

Now that we’ve covered the background of what’s going on and some of what the Bible has to say about it, let me move on to another point I’ve been giving some thought lately.

Not only are these folks and their supporters openly sinning and supporting unrighteousness, but they have had the gall to further slap our Creator in the face by attaching one of His beautiful symbols of one of His magnificent promises to the front of their movement. This “pride” is symbolized by a rainbow. It makes me angry and brings tears to my eyes at the same time to think that they are trying to drag God’s name through the mud like that. The rainbow was put in the sky after the great flood in which God destroyed the earth by means of water and only Noah and his family were saved (because they were the only righteous ones left on earth at the time). After the flood God promised that he would never again destroy the earth with a flood and He set His bow in the sky as a sign of that promise. (Genesis 9)

Such a pure and Holy symbol of a covenant made by God between Him and all living things on the earth, and folks have darkened it and made it a sign of sin. Furthermore, they call it “pride.” Pride itself is spoken against in the Bible and we’re fiercely warned of it’s destructiveness.

Proverbs 16:18 (NASB95)

18 Pride goes before destruction, And a haughty spirit before stumbling.

Wake up folks, stand up, be bold for Christ! Quit denying Him! God calls us to be radically different than the world. Repent and encourage others to do so, or you will all likewise perish.

3 “I tell you, no, but unless you repent, you will all likewise perish.

Luke 13:3 (NASB95)
